14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
To seek God’s face, rather than His hand, means we seek to know Him!
If you’re seeking to know someone, how do you get to know them?
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”
4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.
8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
The Lord is High and Lifted up!
so often, we want to talk to Him like He’s on our level.
We can, IF we don’t forget He’s not.
He’s not just lifted up, He’s HIGH and lifted up!!
angelic beings. do you understand? ANGELIC BEINGS DO NOT STOP saying how Holy He is!
When you’re praying to God, you’re praying to the ruler of the universe. He has a throne. What is that the throne of?
When we say He’s on THE throne, we mean THE throne!
Prayer REQUIRES picturing things. The Bible calls it vision.
When you pray, how do you picture Him?
These beings who are around Him all the time. What attribute about Him are they praising? What *could* they praise? God has a lot of attributes. The beings that know Him the most however, the ones closest to Him, they’re talking about His holiness.
How much are they talking about it?
So many people have this idea of holiness that’s bad. In fact, in the early 2000’s, it was like considered out-of-touch to talk about it. Why? Do these angels consider it out of touch? do they avoid talking about it?
I called this message the “h” word because holy begins with “h” but also because a lot of people think holiness is something bad!
It just means pure!
How “pure” is God?
Is holiness something you should avoid? Is it something bad?
What would purity bring into your life?
God is absolutely pure, what does that mean about the one you’re talking to? The one who hears your prayers? the one who died for you? The one who allows you the privilege of serving Him? Who is it exactly you’re praying to?
You NEED holiness in your life!!! it means COMPLETELY PURE! Free of all imperfections! Free of all corruption! Free of all bad! Free of all evil! THAT’S GOD!
When you pray, HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE A HOLY GOD!
When you worship, HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE A HOLY GOD!
When God allows you to go to church, HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE A HOLY GOD!!!
The fear of God is utterly lacking from our society.
